One morning, the King of Air thought someone had stolen his golden ring. He searched beside his throne and among the clouds.

He did not think to look at his own crown. The ring had caught there, just out of sight.

The King of Air called the creatures of his realm together. He promised a gift to whoever could find his missing ring.

The birds and insects listened carefully. Each hoped to bring back the answer.

Birds flew through the clouds while insects checked the flowers below. Everyone searched where a ring might have fallen.

Nothing glittered in the clouds or among the petals. They had no ring to bring to the king.
