Page 1
A guard let Dorothy and her friends into Emerald City after fitting each with green glasses. They had come to ask its famous Wizard for help.
The Wizard promised to help only after they defeated the Wicked Witch of the West. He gave the same task to the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman and Lion.
Page 2
The Wicked Witch of the West saw the travelers coming and sent wolves, crows and bees to stop them. The Tin Woodman, Scarecrow and Lion protected their friends.
The Witch used her Golden Cap to call Winged Monkeys, who carried Dorothy and Toto to her castle and imprisoned the Lion. The Witch wanted Dorothy’s silver shoes but feared the Witch of the North’s protective kiss.

The Witch tricked Dorothy with an invisible bar and took one of her silver shoes. Dorothy stumbled and grew angry when she saw the shoe in the Witch’s hand.
Dorothy threw water on the Witch, who melted, then freed the Lion and the Witch’s Winkie captives. The Winkies rejoiced and helped them search for their lost friends.
